McGhee Tyson is the airport that serves Knoxville and East Tennessee. We sit three minutes from the terminal on Cusick Road in Alcoa.
Where we are relative to the terminal
McGhee Tyson Airport sits on Alcoa Highway in Alcoa, about fifteen miles south of downtown Knoxville. Most people call it Knoxville airport, and its code is TYS.
Our lot is at 162 Cusick Rd in Alcoa, roughly a three-minute shuttle ride from the terminal doors. That is close enough that the ride is barely a ride, which matters at five in the morning and matters more when you land late and want to be in your own car.
Why people park off-airport at TYS
TYS has been growing quickly and the parking situation at the terminal has been in flux, with construction work reshaping the lots and the traffic patterns around the terminal. Off-airport parking sidesteps the whole thing: you park in a straightforward surface lot, pay a flat rate at a desk, and get driven to the door.
The other reason is simply price. At $10 a day flat with the shuttle included, a week-long trip costs less here than it typically does to leave a car at an airport garage.
Flying at an odd hour? Our shuttle runs 4:00 AM to 2:00 AM, seven days a week. It does not run between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM. If your flight falls inside that window, call the front desk before you park and we will work out a plan.

McGhee Tyson handles mainline and regional service to hubs across the country, which is why so much of the traffic through here is connecting travellers heading somewhere further. - Drive to 162 Cusick Rd and park in any open spot
- Pay $10 for each day you will be gone at the front desk
- Ride the shuttle to the terminal
- Call us when you land and meet the van at the Shuttle and Taxi pickup area
Give yourself at least 30 minutes at the lot before you need to be at the terminal, so there is time to check in and catch the shuttle.
